Multi-Line Text Input

Overview

Use a Multi-Line Text Input to capture string data within a form. Populate this field with user-defined constants or dynamic values derived from form calculations to display specific information. The Multi-Line Text Input supports standard properties detailed in the Help Center, but the unique control properties appear within the control properties.

Adding a Multi-Line Text Input to Your Form

Drag and Drop Multi-Line Text Input

Drag the Multi-Line Text Input component from the Individual Items section of the Component Selector to add it to your form. This action places the field onto your form canvas.

Position Multi-Line Text Input in Form

To position the Multi-Line Text Input field accurately within your form, observe the green indicators that appear during the drag operation. A green outline around the entire form or a section signifies the field will be appended as the last item. A green border appearing between or at the end of an existing components indicates the precise location where the field will be inserted.

Configuring Text Input Settings

Adjust Field Type

Modify the fundamental behavior of the Multi-Line Text Input field by accessing its control properties. This allows you to transform the field into a button, a button group, an RTF display text area, or a dropdown menu.

Field Type Alert

Changing a Text Input to a button, button group, or dropdown is irreversible. You cannot change it back to text.

Add Adornment Text and Icons

Enhance visual clarity and user guidance by adding adornment text and icons to the Multi-Line Text Input field. Configure these elements within the control properties to appear to the left or right of the text input, providing additional context or visual cues.
