Overview
Add custom icons to your sketchpad from the backend library or by uploading new image files to enhance visual communication.
Select Backend Icon
Open Sketchpad Properties
Access sketchpad customization settings by selecting the sketchpad box in the designer. In the control properties panel, select the wrench icon to view annotation settings and add icons.
Initiate Add Icon
Select ADD ICON under Annotation Icons in the control properties to open the icon selection interface and choose an icon source.
Select Backend Image Source
Select the From Backend radio button in the Select Image dialog to choose an icon stored within the Mirata backend. This displays a list of pre-existing icons.
Choose Backend Icon
Scroll through the list of backend images and select the desired icon, such as Valve, to add it to your sketchpad annotations.
Confirm Backend Icon Selection
Click OK after selecting the backend icon to add it to your sketchpad's annotation options.
Upload New Icon
Initiate New Icon Upload
Select ADD ICON under Annotation Icons in the control properties to open the icon selection interface and choose the Upload New icon source.
Select Upload New Image Source
Select the Upload New radio button in the Select Image dialog to prepare for uploading an icon directly from your computer.
Specify New Icon Details
Enter a name and ID for your new icon to categorize and identify it within Mirata.
Upload New Icon File
Click SELECT FILE, browse your computer to find the icon file, for example, manhole.png, and click Open to transfer your custom icon file to the Mirata platform.
Upload Sequence
After selecting your icon file in the local browser, click 'Open' there before clicking the 'Upload' button in Mirata.
Confirm New Icon Upload
Click UPLOAD to add your custom icon file and finalize its addition to the sketchpad's annotation options.
Verify Added Icons
Access Test Mode
Select the Test button to preview how the added icons function in a live environment and interact with the sketchpad and its new annotation icons.
Select Grid for Annotation
Select the desired grid area on the sketchpad to place an annotation.
Annotate Sketchpad
Choose one of your custom icons and place it on the selected grid area to annotate the sketchpad, confirming correct integration and visibility.
