Overview
This article will discuss how to create a form from a form. This process can execute while in the process of completing a form by tying a form creation action to a workflow transition. If you already have 2 forms you know need to be created from each other please follow the steps below. If you only have 1 form built, please build the secondary form before following the steps laid out below.
Creating Another Form:
Navigate to the form you want to create to be the source form that you will be creating another form from.
Go to your workflow
Select the transition you want the secondary form to be created at.
Form creations occur at transitions. It is an action that executes once that transition runs. Therefore, you need to determine when makes the most sense to create another form in your business process.
Click the Create Form tab
Click on the plus sign to create an action to create another form.
Select the form you wish to create from the list of forms currently in your environment.
Select the transition you wish to create the form on.
This is the transition of the form you are creating. Most cases you are creating it on "created" status, but if there is any need to create the form to start at a later workflow step this is where you would specify that requirement.
Lastly begin mapping any fields you want/need brought over to the "child" form upon creation.
This can be header information, users, status, anything that could be duplicate entry to save the user time from filling out the same information twice on the second form.
