Overview
Create forms in Mirata to collect and manage data efficiently.
Access the Form Designer
Open the Mirata Designer tool.
You will see a list of forms, templates, and dashboards.
Click the Create dropdown, and select forms. From here you can choose blank and select type (often the formtype associated with the environment), enter a title under name, and add a description.
Once complete, select the OK button, and you will generate a blank form to begin work.
Copying existing forms
Sometimes it makes more sense to start with an existing template rather than anew. There are two primary ways to copy forms.
Copy form within Environment
Navigate again to the Designer tool, and select the Create dropdown, and select form.
This time, select From Existing .
This will bring a dropdown with all available forms in the environment. From there you can select an option, edit the name, and hit OK.
This will copy the form, and make a new version to edit.
Copy form from external environment
When editing and testing, often dev or UAT environments are utilized for form creation and testing. To move a form back and forth between different environments:
Navigate first to the Admin tool (selection button top right of Mirata page), and select Admin, then forms catalog.
From here, select your form, and hit Download File when the sidebar appears.
This will generate and download a .MFD file to your device.
From here, navigate to your second environment's Form Catalog in the Admin tool, and hit the Add Form button .
This presents the upload screen, and you may now either drag the file, or click the grey area to select from your device.
After doing so, and editing whatever may be necessary, select Upload to generate your form.
Customize the Form
Add and Configure Form Fields
Add fields to your form using the available options in the component selector.
Drag and drop components from the sidebar onto the form to add input elements, such as text boxes, radio buttons, and dropdowns. You can configure field validations, such as required fields or specific data formats.
Add Sections to Group Fields
Add sections to group similar fields together.
This makes the form easier to understand.
Configure Element Properties
Select a form element to configure its properties in the sidebar on the right.
Save Your Form
Click Save to save your form.
You will see a confirmation message after successfully saving.
