Designer Overview

Overview

Mirata's "Designer" allows users to design and build forms by placing components and configuring their properties in the Designer interface. Drag and drop fields onto a form canvas, then customize their settings to create new or modify existing digital forms.

Homepage Navigation

Access Designer Homepage

Access the Mirata Designer homepage to manage your forms, templates, and dashboards. Use this central hub to start new design projects or locate existing items. The homepage displays a list of your forms, templates, and dashboards. Use the search bar to find specific items or select "Create" to begin a new design.

Initiate New Form Creation

Digitize a work process by creating a new form. Build a form from a blank canvas or duplicate an existing form to accelerate the process. From the homepage, select "Create" then "Form." Choose "Blank" to start a new form and assign it a name, or select "From Existing" to create a copy of a designed form.

Form Design

Add Form Components

Build your form's structure and functionality by adding interactive components to capture specific data. Locate the "Component Selector" in the left panel of the form designer. Drag and drop components, such as "Text Input" or "Integer Input," onto your form canvas to include them.

Configure Field Properties

Define each field's behavior and attributes to ensure it collects data in the correct format. Select a field on your form to display its properties in the right-hand panel. Adjust settings like the field's name and type to define its functionality.

Set Field Calculations and Validations

Specify fields to react and/or change based on other fields by using calculations (Sigma symbol on right side panel).

Ensure data accuracy and completeness by implementing validation rules for form fields. This prevents submission of incorrect or incomplete data. Select a field, then access the "Validation" section in its properties panel. Define rules, such as required fields or format constraints, to guide user input (Checkmark symbol).

Adjust Field Presentation

Control how fields are displayed to users to enhance usability and aesthetics. Select a field and navigate to the "Presentation Properties" section in the right panel. Adjust settings like width, hint text, or visibility conditions to customize its display (Television symbol).

Modify Field Styles

Apply custom styling to form fields to align with your brand or design preferences. Control visual elements like colors, borders, and spacing for a polished look. Select a field, then open the "Style Properties" section in the right-hand panel. Adjust general styling options, including margins, padding, shadows, and specific field and label styles (Paintbrush symbol).

View your form in "Preview" mode

Select "Preview" in the top right to get a quick look as to how your form will look when it is used. Users can preview style/presentation, validations, calculations and more. This is used as a quick check, however using Mirata's "Inbox" is the best way to test your form's functionality including transitions and integration actions.
